Main research focus: Antimicrobial peptides (AMP)
Jessica Hannah studied chemistry at the Technische Universität Berlin and completed her diploma thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. Siegfried Blechert where she worked on olefin metathesis for site-selective protein modification. She then joined the department of biocatalysis where she is currently doing her Ph.D under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nediljko Budisa. The focus of her research is the in vivo and in vitro modification of ribosomallly synthesized and post-translational modified peptides (RiPPs).
